TED: STILLNESS IN MOTION
Inspired by the work of TED speaker Pico Iyer, Delta’s “Stillness in Motion” installation utilized biometric technology to turn the abstract concept of stillness into a tangible experience at the TED Conference in Vancouver.
Visitors were invited to enter a chamber of mirrored walls and reactive light panels. After placing their hands on heart-rate sensors, the space pulsed with light, sound and abstract images. These immersive elements created a relaxing environment that encouraged stillness. During the experience, each participant’s lowest recorded heart rate was programmed into a small glowing orb which they kept as a token of the experience. An image of their stillest moment was also captured for social sharing.
As Executive Producer, I worked with experiential agency MKG to develop the project from ideation to onsite execution.
